Coconut Flour The Ultimate Collection Over 50 Gluten Free Recipes edition by Jonathan Doue MD Cookbooks Food Wine eBooks
Update: I tried to give the book the benefit of the doubt and tried two more recipes. the Apple Crisp with Coconut Flour for the Topping. YUCK!!!! That sounds a whole lot better, than it is. It was a waste of ingredients. The topping completely sucked up every bit of juice out of the Apple filling, leaving it dry and parched. Well, you'd think that would at Least make the topping taste better. NOPE.!! It was so bad, we tried scraping the topping off and eating the filling and finally the whole thing went in the trash. On to recipe number Two: Stuffed Chicken with Feta Cheese & Coconut Flour. Again, sounds good. It wasn't. Not as bad as the Apple Fiasco, but not worthy of eating. Now considering there are numerous errors in this book, many are copied from other sites and books, the two I tried were highly unsatisfactory, I "Cannot" Now Recommend This Book.Original Review Below:
There are some really good recipes in this book and some that are not as great. What I don't like as much about the book, is that it seems several of the recipes are copied from other sites or books. With millions of recipes floating out there, I realize that many can be very similar and I take that into account. However, some are practically word for word. If I'm writing a recipe that isn't my original, I note that it isn't mine and where it came from or that it was taken from the internet or a remake of an old standby. On top of that, a few recipes seemed to be incomplete. I really wanted to make the “Baked Tilapia Fillets with Almonds and Coconut Flour” Except that it called for 1/3 cup Organic Flakes. Organic Flakes of WHAT?? Had it not been for those things, I would have given the book a 4, because there are several interesting Coconut Flour recipes. Another point is that I read and reviewed Two Coconut Flour Cookbooks in the same weekend. Since the other cookbook was so outstanding, this one did not impress me as much. You may find it a better read and like it more. I've read hundreds of cookbooks, so not many recipes are new or as novel to me. I do still recommend the cookbook, just not as much as I do some others I've read. I've included some of the recipes below. Thank you for reading my review.

Coconut Flour The Ultimate Collection Over 50 Gluten Free Recipes edition by Jonathan Doue MD Cookbooks Food Wine eBooks Reviews
We found this book to be very helpful in supplementing our health, medical, psychology and weight loss library. It is well written and informative as a reference as well.
Has some good recipes for using coconut flour, however, there are some that my family did not enjoy as much as other kinds of flour. I guess we need to learn to change our tastebuds for healthier way of eating.
This book is a GREAT resource for those of us who are trying to live a more healthy lifestyle. Great that it was free for that day too!
I have been trying to live the gluten free lifestyle for a year now so coconut flour is one of my store cupboard staples. This book is a wonderful addition to my collection and having the version makes quick 'look up's' so much easier.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to try and give up wheat
many of the recipes are unusable, some are just repeats from other books or websites. there is nothing ultimate about it, i can put together more coconut flour recipes that taste better just out of the recipe files on my computer.
I got this for free yesterday hoping I could adapt the recipes to the low carb diet I have been on.
It seems pointless to go to the trouble of cooking with coconut flour yet add sugar and/or starch to a recipe, but most of the recipes in this book have sugar and starches added to them - sometimes a lot, in the form of white sugar, honey, agave nectar, and even corn starch.
One recipe inexplicably suggests using a sugar alcohol as a sweetener.
The book does not seem to have a focus, just an assortment of recipes that coincidentally use coconut flour.
The theory sounds good. The recipes sound good. The results of the recipes I tried were awful. On closer examination, we find that there are ingredients missing from some recipes. The directions for most of the recipes are poorly written and are sometimes confusing. Don't waste your money on the book or on the pricey ingredients, and don't waste your time reading it. To submit this review I had to give the book a star rating. One is the lowest rating available, so that is what I gave it.
