This is the second book by Ellie Masters that I have read and it does not disappoint! Her writing is fluid and strong. She conveys thoughts, feelings and emotions almost effortlessly. This book will turn you around, spin your head, break your heart and heal it, all before it ends.
Skye Summers is an emergency room doctor, who through hard work determination and the love of her brother, Bean, has worked from the depths of hell to get where she now is. Skye suffered a tragedy at a young age, and then had a horrific time growing up. As an adult, she has trouble getting close to people and sharing intimacy, due to her circumstances. But she didn’t let anything stand in her way of achieving her dream of becoming a doctor.
Ash Dean is the front man and lead singer of the super popular rock band, Angel Fire. He lives his days singing, touring, recording and writing songs. He first meets Skye on a bad day, but that doesn’t change his instant attraction to her and the need to get to know her. Determined is a good word to describe Ash.
Ash & Skye embark on small getaway with each other, with some rules, the most important being, no sex. Can they make it three days, getting to know each other, spending time in such a close area without breaching the main rule?
Ash is a man that is easy to fall in love with and with whom you feel better just by being in his presence. He is patient and understanding, yet lusty, sexy & a very sexual being. Skye is struggling to overcome her demons and get the good in life. She’s smart, loyal and protective. The two of them together just make my heart sigh, they are that great together. Another star (to me) in this book is Skye’s brother Bean. He’s quite the character with his own damaging past, and I just want him to get an HEA!!
Ellie Masters has written “Ashes To New,” a prequel to this book, about Sky & Bean’s tragic childhood, which is being released in an Abuse Survivors anthology this fall. I’m currently trying to peer pressure her into writing a holiday novella about these characters because I WANT MORE!
I’m excited for more to come in this series and revisiting these characters!

Wow! My first Ellie Masters book and it won't be the last. She had me intrigued from the first chapter and in love with Ash less than a minute into their drive. To handle such a dreadful backstory with an honesty that created a realm of compassion and trust. This book brought out so many of my favorite things about a book as it plays the movie in my head. I not only saw the scence laid out so vividly, but felt the warmth of their connection and the depth of her pain. Ash's reactions were what created a space of trust.
The writing was exceptional! These characters had so much depth and grit with empathy and heart. My heart swelled. It broke. It caught strength in her strength. And boy did she have strength. I can admire a women who rises from the ashes and soars!.
Sometimes, when you put yourself back together after being shattered, some of the pieces may be missing, and some edges may be sharp, but the strength that is found along each of those fractures heal stronger than before.
I have mad respect for this authors ability to weave a wonderful story through rising from tragedy and never giving up on finding her self worth.
I am truly not even sure where to start. I completely devoured this book in hours. Once I picked it up the pages kept turning and my love for Ellie Masters writing grew more and more. I do not know why I haven’t read Hearts Insanity before this...but holy moly I am so glad I started reading it today. I am 100% hooked on everything that is Ash and Skye.
Hearts Insanity is packed full with emotions and my heart literally broke for Skye and Forrest but damn if they seriously didn’t overcome their past as best they could. Then you throw in Ash and my heart was so full. The innocence of getting to know someone and the struggle to keep it in the “no sex” zone when there is a 100% attraction. Hearts Insanity takes you on a journey of two souls who I believe were destined to meet and through all the “INSANITY” rescue each other. This is a MUST READ in my book and 5+ Stars. I am addicted to everything that Ellie Master writes!

Skye Summers has overcome her extremely traumatic past to dedicate herself to healing others; as an ER doctor, her life revolves around 12 hour shifts of dealing with trauma inflicted from accidents, gang battles and other incidents. Skye has difficulty being intimate with anyone, including her controlling, jealous fiancee, Tyler.
Catching Tyler in bed with another woman sends Skye reeling from Tyler's apartment. In an attempt to gather her chaotic thoughts, Skye retreats to her favorite bistro for a hot chocolate.
Ash Dean, aka Blaze, is the lead singer of the hottest rock band in the country. Ash is used to all women fawning all over him. When Skye scolds him for his lack of manners, Ash is first amused, then intrigued, by the mysterious Skye.
Ash quickly becomes enamoured of Skye, and she of him, but there are obstacles to them pursuing any type of relationship; not just the fact the Skye is engaged to Tyler, but also because of Skye's childhood traumas.
Skye is still a prisoner of her past; memories scored and scarred into her very soul. Her fragile psyche can't accept Ash's love until Skye overcomes the horrific memories, and finds the courage and strength to say " I am done. I am done letting my past overshadow my future. "
Tyler's obsession with Skye is another problem that must be overcome. Somehow, some way, Summer and Ash must find the path to freedom from the past, and to their future together, with love.
