A very satisfying read. It's a series, so Tom ends it with a "cliff hanger" effect - which is okay. It leaves you wanting more.
I particularly like that Tom doesn't drag out the plot just to make more pages.

I was given this book for an honest review!
This book is about a cop sent to prison for 16 years for a crime he didn't commit! Instead of a cash settlement he elected to get his job back! Besides working a new case at work in his spare times he is trying to find who set him up 16 yrs ago! To find out you havery to keep reading!
I liked the story. It has the potential to be an excellent book. But this not a book, it's just one chapter of a book. When authors do this I feel ripped off but luckily I didn't pay for this chapter. But I won't buy anymore chapters.
Charlie Hardwick is not an ordinary man. He spent 16 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. His friend and partner was murdered and Charlie was accused, charged and sentenced. After 16 years his case was re-opened. Additional info was produced and Charlie was freed. The city offered him a lot of money ... but Charlie wanted only one thing in return for his lost years. He wanted his job back ... and he got it. He is now back to work as a homicide detective.
This is second in this series that features Detectives Charlie Hardwick and his partner, Sarah Bryer.
They are investigating the death of a politician found jammed up in a tree in a wooded area. Being a politician, there are plenty of suspects.
How did he wind up among the branches of a tree? And who wanted him permanently out of the way?
And while shuffling through potential suspects and weeding out the secrets and lies, Hardwick has a stalker that he has no knowledge of. This stalker is watching every move he makes.
Hardwick is piecing together what happened when his partner was murdered. Who was behind it? Why? And why did his supervisor get on the stand and out and out lie about him?
He's about to find out ......
This is an excellent followup to this new series. Checking with , there are 8 books available. I found it to be well written with nicely drawn character development. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.
